We've had him as a remote guest before... but we've never had him on set! J. Hogan Gidley, Rick Santorum's National Communications Director, joined us today for one last look back at the sweater vest.
Gidley acknowledged that while it's too soon to look back at regrets, the snappy dresser did say that Santourm's sweater vest may have taken "the country backwards!"
Here's a last look at Santourm's 10-month campaign and the ascot behind the sweater vest himself - in the flesh. And it was our IMOD! (Intern Moment of the Day!)

Alex I am so sorry to lose you...I mean...you and Hogan make such an adorable couple!!
Alex... I LOVE your show....between you and Chris Hayes.... you two are destined to rule the mediaway!
My comment: I know when I run for election and represent myself as a person who is all about creating change and resolution for the immediate issues facing the voters who elected me to do just that...... for some reason, it all becomes so big and so threatening that my mind become stuck and FROZEN from the realization that I AM 100% inadequate and unqualified to have a clue about how to resolve my next breath.......that, at that moment, the best I can do is pretend I am a scientist with the expertise to say that , "yes, Life does begin at conception and that THOSE THOSE are the laws that are demanding my immediate attention..... Yes, this IS the TRUE issue begging to be legislated............ yes, representation is a combination of self declared intelligence, divine intervention, and clearly the perfect distraction that has enough noize around it that everyone will forget and forgive that I didn't even attempt to create jobs and improve the vitality of the people who trusted me to take care of them...
