At an Ohio rally yesterday, Mitt Romney ignored a woman’s accusation that the President is guilty of treason. It was only after the event, when a reporter asked Romney if the President should be tried for treason that Romney replied, “No, of course not.”
The incident came after President Obama’s top political adviser David Axelrod said in a conference call that GOP strategists Karl Rove and the Koch brothers – and the super PACs they help fund – “are contract killers over there in Super PAC land.”
Axelrod’s comments are in stark contrast with the Obama campaign’s positive new ad, called, "Go."
The campaign is dropping $25 million to run the ad in key swing states.
According to the latest fundraising totals, the Obama reelection campaign raised $192 million by March 31st. Meanwhile, the pro-Obama super PAC, Priorities USA Action, raised just under $9 million in the same period.

On the other side, Restore our Future, the pro-Romney super PAC, raised nearly $52 million, making it a much more effective attack dog, according to Thomas B. Edsall of the New York Times.
Edsall quotes an unnamed but “key Democratic operative” who told him, “Right now, before everyone gets to know him, is the time for Obama to push Romney face down in the dirt. You can’t let Romney go before the voters looking clean.”
Election day is roughly six months away and things are already getting ugly.

I just wanted to say, since I don't see a place I can email the show directly: great job. Seriously, Alex Wagner, you are doing a great, great job! How great? I RESCHEDULED my work from 2-10 to 3-11 instead, just so I wouldn't miss the end of the show. First off, you are a GREAT moderator, very very funny and quick-witted, you know what you're talking about (which you can't say for everyone else, not even on MSNBC, which I do watch regularly!).....and the guests really seem to enjoy being on the show, you bring out the best in all of them, even the usual MSNBC suspects (Michael Steele comes to mind, Governor Rendell.... Meghan McCain is great on your show also, it kills me to see how people have been ripping her, people on the left should be ENCOURAGING her, and the Republicans should take notice, since she's the future of their party!).
So keep up the great work, I don't know how much feedback you guys get on the show, but I wanted to make sure you knew that your work is not in vain!
Anyways, LOVE the show, I've seen it since the first day (I made snarky comments about how it was the "swivel neck" show, but I don't know if you adjusted the set, or if I just became immune to it...but I definitely don't notice it now and, as I've said, the show is great.....and I still get home just in time to catch Ed and Maddow, my other two favorite "don't-miss" shows!
PS: The only bit of constructive criticism I have: Love the "Rominee" title (I use it myself! Alex coined it!), and also the "indubitable" introductions....but sometimes it seems like they get overused!! You can't call anyone "indubitable" anymore!! Or at least not on consecutive shows! :D
Can anyone tell me why it is that some ads from the Karl Rove GPS enterprise can call some issue ads and not political ads? Under the issue ad he has declared that it is offered exempt status. Its bad enough that these ads are secret donors. I'd like to know who is attempting to buy my vote.
