Among the questions we're asking this morning: Is it a bus tour or spring training?
Mitt Romney has been on 5-day bus tour since Friday, travelling across 6 swing states - all states President Obama won in 2008. Along the way, Romney's met up with several of the contenders on Romney's presumptive short list. Over the weekend it was Rep. Rob Portman in Ohio; in New Hampshire, Sen. Kelly Ayotte. Yesterday he appeared with Rep. Paul Ryan in Wisconsin.
Among those who weren't with Romney? Sen. Marco Rubio, who ABC News reports is not being vetted by the Romney campaign, quoting sources saying the Florida Senator has not been asked to hand over documents in connection with a possible vice presidential bid.
We'll break down all the 2012 news of the day - plus the important geopolitical news as the President wraps up in Mexico - today at noon ET on NOW.

I wonder if Romney will truly pick his own VP . Out here on the ground away from the pundits and surveys there is a fear that Romney will just be a figurehead President with a dark shadow a la Dick Cheney . Comments like Grover Norquists , " we just need someone to sign the bills we send him " , have us concerned the the VP will either be a pointless exercise toward a powerless official or worse a liaison to the office telling the President what to sign and how to act .
Very eenteresting.
Shorter GOP: We wouldn't have done anything because it would have given Obama a WIN but Obama has made it harder for us to do nothing because he has made us look bad.
Out here on the ground away from the pundits and surveys we wonder if this isn't just a pointless exercise . When you hear statements like Grover Norquist's , " We only need someone to sign the bills we send him " , you have to ask are we getting another powerless functionary or worse a liaison who's real job to tell Romney how the Party wants him to act and what to sign ......a shadow President a la Dick Cheney . I'm not your run of the mill conspiracy buff , there is a concern I've heard voiced that the reason Romney can't tell you what he'd do , is that he hasn't been told yet , as opposed to an anti-pigeonholing strategy .
Off topic Margret Carlson is still hot , intelligence without belligerence is very sexy
Would someone explain to Alex what the phrase "in the cat bird seat" means. It is not to be in center of a negative dust up as she seems to think. It means to be in a good position. She has used it three times now very inappropriately.
I suspect it will be Portman of Ohio. As others have pointed out, I think the repubs will punt on the hispanic vote, hope for 31% and try there darndest to win Ohio.
Niss Wagner is responding nicely to the new seating and panel environment. It seems less formal, and Miss Wagner seems perhaps to be settling down. That would be good. I was worrying that her legs might begin to uncontrollably dance. She's still dancin' inside from bein' named an MSNBC host. Perhaps she should just uncontroillably dance, after work.
