Is it Justice, or Politics?
With the House poised to vote on a resolution holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt, there is a sharp divide, largely along party lines, on the motivations behind this unprecedented action. There is speculation that the White House will work to strike a deal that would appease Republicans and avoid Holder actually facing a contempt resolution (it's only a recommendation from the Oversight committtee at this point).
The question this morning: Does a contempt ruling play as a black eye for the President, which coupled with an unfavorable health care ruling, causes a Republican feeding frenzy? Does it backfire on the Republicans for pushing the vote in the first place? Or does it only serve to solidify the public's belief that Washington is seriously out of control?

I hope NOW talks about the "slippery slope" of gun control. What I mean is ... the "slippery slope" is only going in the direction of LESS control, not more, which the right-wing says they fear. (The right-wing fears everything else, so why should we be surprised?) The "slippery slope" of LESS control has seen the 12 bullet clip go to 30 bullets (helped to kill and injure more during the Gabby Gifford shooting) ... guns are now allowed in Ohio (and other places) bars ... the Assault Weapons Ban was not renewed by Bush/Cheney ... the increased power the NRA has gained in DC ... the "Stand Your Ground" laws in states, leading to more deaths (ie Trayvon Martin) ... etc. There is only one direction for this "slippery slope" ... and it is going in the more violent direction.
Is it me or are many ignoring the number of Christians or Evangelical voters who said they will sitting this one out because they CAN NOT vote for a Mormon. I understand what is being said by talking heads but I’ve just spoken with 4 people who are die-heart Republicans and devoted Christians who just told me they are sitting this election out if Romney is the nominee. Just today!!! These people knock on doors and have always been involved. I actually felt this was not an issue until I spoke with these individuals today. I believe that number is a lot more than many are led to believe.
When is Mitt Romney going to stop saying half truths? Why didn't he mention in his speech that Reagan had a very cooperative congress. That when Reagan reached out he did not get a fake hand that came out of the other side of the isle.
I am really tired of hearing Romney lie or tell half truths that insult, making every one else, seem stupid. Why didn't he mention that when Reagan became president not one person in any of the both houses said "they wanted him to fail". Why didn't he speak of the "Atlas Shrugged" philosophy the GOP saboteur congress is practicing now and taking with them the private sector who is expecting something back due to the amount of money they are giving him?
Reagan was not dealing with voter suppression either.
Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws. - Plato
Its time MSNBC start putting little comments on the side every time Mitt speaks calling him out.
Shame on your panel for totally ignoring the lie that Romney once again trotted out about Obama's record on Trade Agreements. The media has totally abdicated responsibility. It is so maddening to see the talking heads blabber on paying no attention to the fact that the candidate just made stuff up in a major speech.
You might want to 'nudge' Halperin and tell him if the HOUSE cares so much about the 'truth' then they might want to call the Bush Administration and the Phoenix ATF to testify and quit asking for 'documents' from stuff that happened AFTER the program shut down.
