It’s no surprise that Mitt Romney’s not a big fan of illegal immigrants or Mexican drug cartels, but a new online documentary suggests that the beef ain’t just campaign rhetoric, it’s personal!
VICE co-founder Shane Smith dropped by the panel Monday to discuss his latest documentary, “The Mexican Mormon War,” which focuses on a war between the cartels and Mormon families south of the border.
About a century ago, some of Romney’s polygamous Mormon ancestors packed up their belongings and left Utah to settle in Ciudad Juarez, (in northern Mexico) hoping for a better lifestyle without the interference of the US government. Together with a few other clans, the emigres formed their own South-of-the-Border Mormon colonies.
But now they’re running into trouble of a different kind. Some colony members have been the target of kidnappings by the cartels, sparking an all-out war between the two sides. And while Romney’s family aren’t gun-toting clansmen and women, they have plenty to say about their distant cousin up North – as well as his stance on drugs and immigration.

Wake up liberals, the Mitch and his people are one of the largest Mexican, USA cartells to date. They got caught running guns, this time, but they have been running guns for drugs and sex slaves (calling them wives) for close to a hundred years
