"There's no economist that can say Mitt Romney's tax plan adds $5 trillion if I say I will not add to the deficit with my tax plan." - Mitt Romney at last night's debate.
Say what? Hang on - Before everybody in the media rushes to coronate Mitt Romney for his stellar debate performance, let's just pause to reflect on Mitt's specious tax argument.
Romney says the economists who have scored his tax plan as adding $5 trillion to the deficit are wrong because his tax cut isn't a $5 trillion tax cut. He dismissed the same criticism from President Obama last night, saying, "if the tax plan he described were a tax plan I was asked to support, I'd say absolutely not. I'm not looking for a $5 trillion tax cut."
This is what a $5 trillion logical fallacy looks like...
Economists: Your 20% tax cut plan costs $5 trillion.
Romney: My tax plan does NOT cost $5 trillion. It is revenue-neutral.
Economists: Tell us how it's revenue-neutral...
Romney: Deductions.
Economists: Such as?
Romney: (Silence)
Economists: So, you’re saying…
Romney: There's no economist that can say Mitt Romney's tax plan adds $5 trillion if I say I will not add to the deficit with my tax plan.

Mitt Romney, is a perfect life exmple why people shouldn't lie.Unfortunately, this man has lied so much that he started to believe in his own lies. Like it said in the bible, you shall reap what you sow.
Mitt Romney isa liar plain and simple and frankly I don't understand why none of the pundints are calling him on it. They are actually engaging in conversations with each other yet no one has said that he was lieing everytime he opened his mouth during the debate. I choose to believe that those of us who are voting for Obama and the undecided voters clearly see and nderstand thisw. Mitt Romney has changed his message every time he spoke and said what that audience wanted to hear. He still wouldnot give any specifices on what he plans to do as president other than repeal Obamacare and cancel PBS out completely. All he really said throughout the debate was I am going to look out for all business and rich people. He has no idea where to start with the middle class and working poor and he simply does not care. He is a SCHMUCK!!!
Romeny said he would apply the test “is it worth borrowing money from China” to decide what programs to cut. Maybe if we raise taxes we won’t have to borrow money from China for needed programs. I rather pay higher taxes than cut teachers, police and fire fighters. I rather pay more taxes than cut school food programs for poor kids. Maybe that’s the way I was raised, Christian. Romney and his like are so greedy. As if they don’t have enough they want to pay as little taxes as possible (as we know from the two tax returns Mitt made public). I’m barely middle class and I would like to see all the Bush tax cuts eliminated including mine. If we all do our part the country wins.
